Saturday 6 June – Sunday 14 June After the success of Castle Combe Circuit’s first-ever two-day Classic Car Meeting last August, plans are in place to build on the event in 2009, with a week of Classic track events, testing and racing in preparation for a showcase event celebrating the Circuit’s 60th Anniversary in 2010. Classic Week will open on Saturday 6 June with the retitled Classic, Retro & Sportscar Action Day. Action Days probably represent the cheapest way of getting your car onto a racing circuit in the UK and - with the Paddock area turned into a huge display area featuring around 100 sports, retro and classic clubs - there will be lots to see for everyone. Clubs from throughout Europe as well as the UK are already making arrangements to attend. Vince Woodman will be guest of honour and will perform demonstration laps in the famous “Cologne Capri”. Further planned events include Sunday 7 June, with another of the circuit’s popular Classic Drive In’s. Monday and Tuesday will see visits from various clubs, with a classic road rally planned. Wednesday 10 June will see a Classic Track Day, for both classic cars and “classic drivers!” Classic car owners will be able to take to the Circuit, knowing they are with fellow enthusiasts. Classic drivers (over 50s) will have separate sessions for any type of car, safe in the knowledge that they need not worry about youngsters in beat-up GTi’s. Thursday 11 June, is reserved for classic race testing. The principal attraction of the Classic Week will be the second running of the Castle Combe Classic Carnival Race Meeting. Featuring The Masters Racing Series for various sports and saloon car championships on Saturday and several HSCC Championships on Sunday, this two-day meeting will present a grand finale to a new and innovative chapter in the Circuit’s history. The Circuit will be offering some great deals to classic clubs who would like to attend. For race information, please contact: Steve Burns, Tel: 01249 782417, Email: steveb@castlecombecircuit.co.uk. For all other further information, please contact: Rodney Gooch, Tel: 01249 782417, Email: rodney@castlecombecircuit.co.uk

12th, 13th & 14th june NTPR 2009 .– THE VERY LAST NTPR!.The ACTIVE rally for all Rover enthusiasts. Rovers from a bicycle to the latest 75 welcome. If you haven’t got your car on the road, just bring yourself! The title says it all! After thirty-two years I’ve finally decided to call it quits, and the 2009 event will be the last Porthmadog / NTPR. However, the event will be going out on a ‘high’ as on the Sunday morning we board the train to the top of Snowdon. .A break with tradition sees us returning to the three-star Celtic Royal Hotel in Caernarfon for the second consecutive year. Something never done before in the history of the NTPR, but of course the original Porthmadog Rally was based permanently at the Madoc Hotel. In view of the excellent reviews given by participants in 2008 to both the food and service it seemed appropriate. Despite being the same location there will only be two duplications from 2008, one being the NTPR go-kart trophy races will be held at the indoor track .once more, and the Saturday lunch will be at the Snowdon Inn in Waunfawr, who did us proud last year. The races will be in the afternoon this time, so I suspect lap times will be considerably slower as a result of the vast quantities of food put out by the Snowdon Inn! I’m hopeful participants in the original Porthmadog rallies back in the seventies and early eighties will dust off their Zimmer frames and make an effort to turn up one last time. If you haven’t been for a while then why not come, meet old friends and relive the past? In addition, perhaps those who keep threatening to ‘do the NTPR sometime’, will take the chance. The cost for dinner bed and breakfast for Friday and Saturday nights, lunch Saturday and Sunday, the Snowdon Railway, the go-kart races, awards, rally plates, and special final NTPR window sticker is just £165 per person. If you wish to stay over on Sunday evening there’s a special reduced price of £45 per person dinner, bed and breakfast. Children under 10 are free, and 11-16 half price. For Booking Form and further information contact either Rona or Ian on 01824 790280 or email: ntprwelshrally@aol.com.

European Driving Experience The company is called Rally Europe and our event’s in 2009 will take in all the best Europe has to offer over a few days. We are just about to run our first event called J.O.E. 08 (The Jolly Old Eurotrip). We are driving from the UK to Frankfurt, Prague, Bratislava, Munich and Amsterdam over 5 days. The rules for this Rally are that the car can cost no more than £300. However for 2009 we have had a re-think and have decided to lift all limitations on the car. We believe it would be fantastic to have a convoy of your cars joining us for any of our 2009 trips. We have one in August - J.O.E. 09 - travelling from the UK to Amsterdam, Prague, Bratislava and Munich over 4 days. We also have a new event in September called The Beerfest Banger Run. This time we will be heading down to Bordeaux, then Marseille via the Millau Bridge. From there it’s onto Milan, travelling along the French Riviera and via the Monaco road/race track. The final day sees us driving across the Austrian Alps and into Munich. We will arrive on the Friday and the Munich Beer Festival starts on the Saturday. We are offering packages on both trips and the BBR will include an extra nights stay in Munich and a seat at a table in one of the tents. All details can be found on the website www.rallyeurope.com

Sunday 26th April – National Drive it day The YRC are celebrating National Drive day by having a run to Eden Camp. If we join in with the other clubs we should be able to enjoy a reduced entry fee - £3 per person or £5 for a car load. As there is limited reserved parking we need to confirm numbers, so if you are planning on coming along, please tell Dave as soon as possible.

Sunday 3rd May – Boroughbridge Show The YRC are planning to have a club stand at the Boroughbridge Classic vehicle show and autojumble.
